All rivers drain to the sea. They are gernerally going the same direction their whole life, their goal / destination it to get to the sea.
A river is a symbosis between the land and the water. They conspire to return water to the ocean and are part of a large system we call the rain cycle.
which is part of a larger system called the weather,
which is part of a large system called the climate
… part of Nature
… Earth
… Solarsystem
… Galaxy
… Universe
… Everything
At different points in its life it changes, it gets faster, slower, wider, floods, drains, erodes off large chunks of land, falls… it’s in constant flux.

So a river is a good thing to study when you want to understand your place. Thinking you’re a single fixed entity is an illusion. Just like there is no river only rain and land there is no fixed you. Just like the river you are part of nature. Not in it. Part of it. Just like a river you are part of a system, natural systems and man made systems. The You you think you are is just the symbiosis of everything you are literally the universe being aware of itself.
So….. if you get that much then you can use a river to see that it’s actually just a constant moving system never the same and always pary of a constantly moving system. If that system stops the river stops.
Once you realise that you are the same then you can see that the journey that you are on is as fixed as the rivers oceanic destination. You too are part of the everything and this phase of consciousness we call life is just part of the journey, a profound one, an amazing one and one to be appreciated as you journey.
Don’t over think what is outside the riverybank, the answer is the everything, your job is to go the course and to reach the sea. Do not over complicate it.
Appreciate and enjoy it while it lasts.
