Yes that’s definitely Cardinal…
Cardinal Knowledge is a list of time honoured wisdoms that I’ve collected over the years. These have served me well as a cheat sheet to refer to when I need some direction.
Origin story. What’s in a name? Cardinal Knowledge? As my ‘Navigator Theme’ develops I’m compiling everything I’ve learned over time into a guide that may be useful to anyone on their journey / mission. As a navigator knowing your cardinal points is fundamental, hence the name.
Here’s the first prototype of the collection, it will evolve.
- The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.
- You are underestimating what you can do in a year and you are overestimating what you can do in week.
- You should not expect anyone to understand your reality in the way you do.
- ACE. Always Carry Essentials, and other energy saving techniques.
- Planning is essential, static plans are a hinderance, plans change.
- A blunt axe cuts no wood, an over-sharpened axe loses it’s edge.
- It’s just a Ride.
- Slow is steady, steady is fast.
- If it’s not a ‘Hell yes‘ it’s a no.
- Always check.
- It’s not giving if you expect something back.
- You’re 100% responsible or you’re not responsible.
- If you are not grateful for what you have, more won’t change anything.
- Ask and thou shall receive. Learn to ask. Learn to receive.
- Add more value than you get paid for.
- You only every play the house, compete with yourself not someone else’s standard.
- Know the limits of what you know.
- Only learn from someone who has experienced what they are telling you.
