Experience

Built from real systems, not theory.

HTC is built on direct operating experience: running businesses, fixing internal systems, integrating software, handling messy data and making work visible enough to manage.

Operating Record

Twenty years inside live businesses.

Before HTC, Kevin Egan co-founded and scaled a global ecommerce operation from a small business into an international company that was later exited. The work covered manufacturing, supply chain, ecommerce, customer experience, content, software and internal operating systems.

That experience matters when a workflow starts to creak. Orders, people, customers, spreadsheets, software and decisions all affect each other. Fixing one part properly means understanding the whole operating picture.

Ecommerce company

Built and operated across the practical layers that owner-operated companies usually struggle to make visible.

  • China-based manufacturing and China-Europe supply chain
  • Distribution infrastructure across the EU, UK and Ireland
  • India-based development capability
  • Direct ecommerce sales channels
  • Customer-facing application layer
  • Integrated content and media systems
  • Amazon FBA integration
  • Multi-cloud Salesforce architecture

Systems Built

Live data, search and local information systems.

HTC has built working systems for data intake, live operational views, semantic search, map interfaces and structured local information. Each one deals with the same practical problem: scattered information that needs to become visible, searchable and usable.

Live local data system - Swords, Co. Dublin

Swords Live

A town-scale platform for seeing live local activity in Swords. It brings transport data, geospatial layers, local conditions and civic-context signals into one operational view.

  • Real-time transport data ingestion and normalisation
  • Geospatial mapping and town-scale spatial modelling
  • Trip inference and probabilistic matching systems
  • Live state management and observability
  • Civic-context UX and information clarity

Semantic search system

Fieldnotes

A working AI search system that turns long-form writing into structured field notes, then matches a question to the right notes by meaning rather than keyword.

  • Author-style field note extraction with LLMs
  • Structured note encoding for indexing
  • Question encoding into the same representation
  • Semantic matching against the note library
  • Returning relevant source material fast and cheaply

Mapclick

A location-data system for giving places, objects and assets their own usable record, so local information can be queried, inspected and built on.

  • Physical points as useful data objects
  • Layered local context around places and assets
  • Map-based interaction and inspection
  • Foundation for Swords Live research
  • A practical way to think about local operational data

Working Model

Owner. Product. System.

A spreadsheet is rarely just a spreadsheet. It is often where owner decisions, customer experience and an overloaded system have all met.

HTC starts with one painful workflow, traces where it is breaking, and builds the internal tool that lets the business run it cleanly.

Owner

Every business reflects the owner. Priorities, standards, tolerances and postponed decisions shape how the organisation behaves.

Product

The product is the experience customers actually receive. That experience is shaped by handoffs, delays, decisions and follow-through.

System

Systems make outcomes repeatable. When they are unclear or overloaded, people compensate with workarounds that become fragile over time.
